[ jyn has a box of paint stick in their closet, the walls dotted with unfinished projects because something keeps jyn from finishing the designs akshaya had taught her. grief or guilt or whatever, they remain unfinished, half-spoked mandalas. jyn doesn't bother to keep those covered while she is painting, careful only to throw up a neural tag to tell cassian (or marcos when he was there) that the paint is wet.
when she starts painting in their bedroom, it is hidden, tucked behind a sheet that she tacks to the wall behind their bed. it's it up for nearly two weeks, but one day cassian returns from work whilst jyn is in the bath and the sheet is gone.
