Character Name: Cassian Jeron Andor

Era of origin: 0BBY

How did your character come to San Junipero: Cassian Andor is dead in canon, having been killed on the planet Scarif by the Death Star after participating in the mission/battle to steal the plans to the superweapon. He broke half the bones in his body and died on a beach in Jyn Erso’s arms and it was very tragic and beautiful and explosive. Literally.

History: on the star wars wiki!

Personality:

Cassian is an emotionally constipated intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance fighting against the evil Galactic Empire. He is a very good spy, one of the best, and he essentially does all the dirty work for the Rebellion, including but not limited to: murder, assassination, sabotage, recruitment, et all. He has done so many terrible things that guilt should probably be his middle name instead of Jeron, and he is weighed down by it constantly.

See? Distraught after stone cold murdering one of his informants in his opening scene. Actual Murderer Captain Cassian Jeron Andor. He does all these things because he believes in the Rebellion wholeheartedly, even if it makes him hate and despise the person he's become in the process. He hates himself so much it's a problem. His self loathing is one of his strongest defining characteristics.

Every hour is "Cassian hates himself time" because it never really stops even when he is in a good mood. War and fighting is all he's ever known, and he's good at it, so he keeps doing it.

Sad child soldier Cassian Jeron Andor. He has literally been fighting a war since he was a kid, starting on the Separatist side of the Clone Wars and being orphaned as a tiny, until he was found and recruited by General Draven for the Rebellion. It's been his whole life, and he is definitely suffering from all kinds of trauma from the non-stop nature of the fight.

To be a good spy and to keep functioning like a human being after doing all the Terrible Things, Cassian stopped believing in forming actual human connections. His best friend for over half his life was a droid he reprogrammed himself, which says a lot let's be real. He is very closed off towards most people, having mastered the art of looking like an expressionless unreadable robot when he doesn't want anyone to know what he's thinking (which is most of the time; what kind of spy would he be if people could tell what he was thinking or feeling??). It doesn't mean he's unemotional - just bad at them, having spend years and years of his life repressing them in order to deal with the trauma of stuff like murder. In relation to the guilt complex bigger than the Death Star, he just doesn't believe he's a good person or deserves good things.

But he is a good person deep down. He's fighting the good fight! He gives up his life for the cause! His hands are just very bloody and he justifies it all by his faith in the Rebellion and all it stands for. He understands fighting a war isn't black and white. He's really awful at analyzing his own feelings because he's too busy ignoring them, but on the flipside he's very good at figuring out other people. Spy! It's impossible to separate his existence as a spy from his entire being, because being in intelligence has shaped his entire being. But hey, Baze Malbus said he has "the face of a friend," which either means he's really friend material or just good at projecting himself in an unassuming way. (It's probably both.)

Appearance: He is a tall olive skinned space soldier with perpetual 5 o'clock shadow. Like 5'10" with beautiful dark hair and brown eyes and have you looked at Diego Luna come on.

Anything else:

He can smile!
