It will likely take time to fully process it all, so do not try to rush it.
This is not the first case where we have been swept away into another world, but Zerzura was only the Displaced. The Aerie seems to have taken everyone from Earth. It seems like everyone is remembering our time there.
It was called Zerzura, but it was remarkably different from the Aerie. More of a utopia at first glance with far less public murder. We similarly had fake memories, but it was possible to be pulled out of them via touch. A trick related to the empathy bond, I suspect.
We saved Zerzura from collapse and in the process brought all its residents into New Amsterdam, though they had no recollection of Zerzura, which does not seem to the case now given everyone on Earth remembers the Aerie as we do.
No, not for certain, though I am working on theories based on new information I received shortly before the Aerie ended.
I realize this is not going to be a helpful answer, but I think we should be prepared for it happening again in some form, yes. Even after Zerzura I wondered if we would have a repeat of sorts.
Do you know anything about the gods of this planet?
Ah, perfect, I suppose I will look forward to that then
Does it happen without our knowledge? Or are there usually hints that something strange is about to happen? This being my first time, I was unprepared but I would like not to be so caught off guard next time
As for the gods, while I was in the Aerie with a friend, we did come across them
But it was very short-lived
We were distracted by the fighting and left quickly
I have not noticed or been made aware of any signs or patterns, but it does not necessarily mean they do not exist.
I found them in the Aerie as well. I helped to free them in that world, and from the sound of it, at least two of them are the reason for its creation in the first place. I believe they are the same ones, as the colors correspond to the gods of this planet.
The gold eyes of the kestrels matches up very nicely with the golden eyed monsters we have encountered here in the past.
The claim was some of the Displaced caged them, some of those who were given Cardinal positions. But the pocket universe seems to be mostly the work of the Gold god.
I am not sure how worried we should be, but they are deeply intertwined in this world, although I was hesitant to believe it at first.
I assume you remember Jyn as well? She is much more of a monster expert than I am. A few months ago the planet was overrun by monsters with golden eyes. We spent a good chunk of time fighting them off.
There was a whole information dump, right before everything quite literally blew up, and it claimed the Cardinals chained the gods and gained power that way. Just as ours do here from the Blue one, I think the Cardinal powers came from the gods, but which god and how is a mystery. The kestrels came from the gold, I think it is safe to make that inference.
As for whether or not it's true, I do not know. The memories are very much real, but this Earth is reality. Perhaps the Aerie was an allegory, or a warning.
She has an ongoing interest. She is a good resource for it, and I am not biased just because she is my partner.
I will have to review this information dump but without a doubt, I agree, this Earth is reality
I am myself again
So was Zerzura also another warning?
And ah, your partner?
[ Is he not-so-secretly hoping that Cassian means what he thinks he means? Look, he might not know them the way he did in the Aerie, but that doesn't mean he can't root for them, right?
Incroyable, he is really turning into something of a sap. ]
There is always a lot to catch up on, even without the Aerie hanging over our heads. Give yourself time to sort through it.
I don't know what to consider Zerzura, and I would not bank on the Aerie as a warning. For now it is just one theory of many.
In every sense of the word, yes. She is my wife and partner. [ it sounds very casual, but they are gross and married, even if they haven't even known each other a whole year yet. he doesn't know booker in reality, but he knows him from the aerie, so maybe it makes it easier to just be honest. ]
I must admit, that is a nice thing to hear after everything in the Aerie
[ Which, yes, he will be gathering information on and reading up on it during his spare time. And considering his still-jobless state? He'll have enough free time, clearly. ]
[ oh hm. he doesn't... know what to do with this? with congratulations? he doesn't know what to do with people being... happy for him, for? being happy? this is almost stranger than anything he did in the aerie. ]
We are from the same galaxy, but we chose to get married here, at the end of May.
It makes sense to have found her again in the Aerie, but I much prefer the reality.
[ It's okay, Booker's having a hard time justifying the allowance to be happy too, but goddamnit, he's going to try. Cassian should too.
He'd spent so many years being resentful of what Joe and Nicky had, what he could never have again, and it cost him a lot more than he was ever allowed to bargain with. ]
Your story in the Aerie would have been a more tragic one
Not long ago at all, no. We have spent more time together here on Earth than our own galaxy.
[ he's known jyn for just under a year - the aerie makes it feel longer, in different ways. sometimes he feels like he's known jyn his whole life, when really it's only been a small fraction. maybe it's just all the pieces of themselves they see reflected in each other. ]
I am not sure anyone's story in the Aerie was meant to be happy. [ they found a little bit of joy in the end, he thinks, even if it all ended shortly thereafter. ]

You've experienced this before?
Do you know why this happens?

Based on this new information, or perhaps even previous experience, do you think this might happen again?

And did you learn why they were caged? Or who caged them? Are they someone or someones we should be worried about?
Nevermind that I also have some questions about these golden eyed monsters
[ aka: what ]

I do remember Jyn
We spoke again, actually
I didn't realize she had such an expertise in monsters but that is good to know

It seems that world only showed us alternate versions of ourselves but none of those stories were happy ones
